“Young, working towards youth activities for health”. This slogan has been adopted by Young Blue Cross Madagascar a group of twenty, mainly students and young workers. This theme perfectly encompasses the aim of the organisation.

Statistics indicate that 80% of the Madagascan population is under 40 years, and parallel to that there is a proliferation in consumption of alcohol and narcotics of many kinds.

Young Blue Cross Madagascar members are under 35 years, volunteers and motivated by the desire to contribute to building a new generation of young people free from  alcohol and drugs. It is a dependent branch of the Blue Cross Madagascar with its own Executive committee.

Driven by young people the organisation has initiatives that speaks to young peoples needs, culture and aspirations. Activities include regular sport competitions, meetings, and trainings, all reunions free from alcohol and drug consumption.  We share research, facts, statistics on the harmful effects of alcohol and drugs through interviews and information sessions.

The organisation recently organized a visit of the anti-drug department of Lutheran Health Center in Ambohibao Antananarivo to inform young people and raise awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol and drugs.
