Successful launch of SAAPA Zimbabwe

32 delegates from youth, media and civil society organisations attended a workshop in December 2015 in Harare, where they deliberated on the issue of alcohol and its impact on Zimbabweans.

Representatives from the Health Advisor’s Office also attended the meeting, setting the tone for a future engagement with government on this critical social and health issue.  A meeting was held with the Health Advisor, Dr. Timothy Stamps who was unable to attend the full meeting. The SAAPA board member, Jonas Ngulube from Zambia attended the workshop and shared the experience from the region and Zambia with delegates. An interim committee was chosen to continue to coordinate civil society engagement with alcohol policy processes in Zimbabwe and the region.

Welcome on board Zimbabwe!!!
